Part-Time Mixed Games Poker Instructor Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable, patient, and engaging Mixed Games Poker Instructors to join our team on a part-time, contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Mixed Games with strong multi-variant poker expertise. If you enjoy teaching players of all levels in a supportive and structured environment, we're interested in you. Our instructors will lead group classes, and practice sessions focused on Mixed Games formats.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and coach players in a variety of Mixed Games, which may include:
Limit Hold’em
Omaha Hi-Lo
Stud
Stud Hi-Lo
Razz
2-7 Triple Draw
Badugi
HORSE and other rotation formats
Execute lesson plans and structured learning materials tailored to player skill levels.
Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and strategic insights to help players understand rules, nuances, and game play concepts.
Conduct group instruction in a variety of settings.
Deliver constructive feedback and player development.
Foster an inclusive, positive, and growth-oriented learning environment.
Track participant progress and communicate with program coordinators as needed.
Represent the organization professionally in all interactions.
Qualifications
Proven experience playing and/or coaching Mixed Games at a competitive or professional level.
Strong understanding of game theory, betting structures, and strategic foundations across multiple poker variants.
Prior teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching style for beginner to advanced players.
Reliable, punctual, and responsive.
Must be comfortable working independently under contract.
Preferred Experience
Experience teaching in recreational-friendly poker environments.
Familiarity with online teaching platforms (Zoom, Discord, Poker coaching tools, etc.) is a plus.
Tournament or cash game results in Mixed Games (not required but your knowledge must be proficient).
Contract Details
Part-time, contract-based position.
Flexible schedule based on class times, events, and student availability.
Compensation based on class size and frequency.
Remote or on-site opportunities depending on program needs.
